NH Bankers: Ask Congress to Withdraw the Fee on Refinance Loans and Help Homeowners Now
Refinancing a mortgage is about to get more expensive for
consumers as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac recently announced a new fee on all
refinance loans. Customers wishing to lower their monthly housing costs by
refinancing their loans will now see the cost of their loan increase by $1,400
on an average loan. This fee will reduce the value of a refinance for all
borrowers and may put refinancing out of reach entirely for lower income
borrowers.
Take
action now. Please contact Senators Shaheen and Hassan, Congresswoman Kuster
and Congressman Pappas and urge them to tell the Federal Housing Finance Agency
to reverse the refinance fee!
